StrideX is built with privacy at its core. We believe your personal fitness data should remain exactly that - personal. All data processing happens locally on your device, and we never collect, store, or transmit your personal information to external servers.

Simply put: We don't see your data, we don't want your data, and we don't need your data to provide you with exceptional running guidance.

Information We Do NOT Collect

To be completely clear, StrideX does NOT collect, store, or have access to:

• Your personal identity or contact information
• Your location data on external servers
• Your workout history on our systems
• Your health or fitness data remotely
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Any personally identifiable information (PII)

We operate a zero-data-collection model. StrideX functions entirely through local, on-device processing.

How StrideX Works (Locally on Your Device)

StrideX processes the following data types exclusively on your device to provide intelligent pacing guidance:

🗺️ Location Data (GPS)

• What: GPS coordinates, speed, and route information
• Purpose: Track distance, pace, and route mapping during outdoor activities
• Processing: Calculated locally in real-time, stored only on your device
• Retention: Remains on your device until you delete the app or clear data

🏃 Motion and Activity Data

• What: Step count, cadence, activity classification (running, walking, stationary)
• Purpose: Provide accurate tracking indoors and enhance outdoor accuracy
• Processing: Real-time analysis using device motion sensors
• Retention: Processed immediately and stored locally for session history

❤️ Health and Fitness Data

• What: Workout duration, distance, estimated calories, heart rate (if available)
• Purpose: Generate comprehensive workout summaries and improve AI recommendations
• Processing: Calculated using standard fitness algorithms on your device
• Integration: Optionally saved to Apple Health (under your control)

🧠 Adaptive Learning Data

• What: Your personal pacing patterns, speed thresholds, cooldown preferences
• Purpose: Personalize the AI-powered cooldown system to your unique style
• Processing: Machine learning algorithms run entirely on your device
• Storage: Encrypted locally using iOS secure storage mechanisms

Apple Health Integration

StrideX can integrate with Apple Health, but only with your explicit permission and under your complete control.

Data We May Write to Apple Health (With Permission):

• Workout sessions (start time, end time, duration, activity type)
• Distance covered during activities (in meters/miles)
• Active energy burned (estimated calories)
• Route data (if location permission is granted)

Data We May Read from Apple Health (With Permission):

• Historical workout data (to improve AI recommendations)
• VO2 Max readings (for future advanced features)
• Resting heart rate (for personalized training zones)
• Previous fitness activities (to understand your activity patterns)

Your Control:

• You decide which data types to share through Apple Health's permission system
• You can revoke access at any time through the Health app
• Data shared with Apple Health is governed by Apple's privacy policies
• We never see or access your Apple Health data outside of your device

Permissions We Request and Why

📍 Location Services ("When In Use")

Required for: GPS tracking during outdoor activities

How we use it: Calculate real-time distance, speed, and route mapping

When active: Only while you're actively using the app for workouts

Privacy protection: Location data never leaves your device

🚶 Motion & Fitness Tracking

Required for: Activity detection and indoor mode functionality

How we use it: Detect whether you're running, walking, or stationary; provide cadence-based speed estimation

Privacy protection: Motion data is processed instantaneously and stored locally

❤️ Health Access (Optional)

Required for: Saving workouts to Apple Health and reading historical fitness data

How we use it: Enhance AI personalization and provide comprehensive fitness tracking

Privacy protection: You control exactly which data types are shared through Apple's permission system

Data Security and Storage

🔒 Local Storage Security

• Encryption: All app data is stored using iOS secure storage with device-level encryption
• Access Control: Data is sandboxed and only accessible by StrideX
• Biometric Protection: Leverages your device's existing security (Touch ID, Face ID, passcode)

🚫 No External Transmission

• StrideX does not require internet connectivity for core functionality
• No data is uploaded to external servers or cloud services
• No analytics, crash reporting, or usage tracking is transmitted
• No advertising networks or third-party tracking SDKs are integrated

🗑️ Data Retention and Deletion

• Automatic: Deleting StrideX removes all locally stored data
• Manual: Use "Reset Learned Cooldown Data" in Settings to clear AI personalization
• Apple Health: Manage StrideX data through the Apple Health app independently

Third-Party Services

StrideX uses NO third-party services that access your data.

We do not integrate with:

• Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• Advertising networks
• Social media platforms
• Cloud storage services
• Crash reporting services
• User tracking or behavioral analysis tools

The only external integration is with Apple Health, which operates under Apple's privacy policies and your direct control.

International Users

Since all data processing occurs locally on your device, StrideX complies with international privacy regulations including:

• GDPR (Europe): No personal data collection means no GDPR compliance issues
• CCPA (California): We have no personal information to sell or share
• PIPEDA (Canada): Local processing ensures Canadian privacy protection

Your data remains subject to your local device security and Apple's privacy protections.

Children's Privacy

StrideX is suitable for users of all ages because we do not collect any personal information. Since no data leaves the device:

• No personal information is collected from users of any age
• No parental consent is required for data collection (because there is none)
• Children can use StrideX with the same privacy protections as adults

Parents should supervise children's physical activity and ensure appropriate use of fitness tracking features.

Because StrideX operates with a zero-data-collection model, you automatically have complete control:
