Getting Started

Adding Widgets to Your Lock Screen

1. Long press on your Lock Screen
2. Tap "Customize"
3. Tap the widget area below the time
4. Find and select the LastLight widget
5. Tap "Done"

Adding Widgets to Your Home Screen

1. Long press on your Home Screen
2. Tap the "+" button in the top corner
3. Search for "LastLight"
4. Choose your preferred widget size
5. Tap "Add Widget"

Customizing Your Widgets

LastLight offers extensive customization options:

• Display Options: Choose which times to show (First Light, Sunrise, Sunset, Last Light)
• Alignment: Adjust vertical and horizontal positioning
• Bold Fonts: Emphasize important information with customizable bold text
• Icon Colors: Choose from 15 colors for Home Screen widgets

Access all customization options by tapping the settings icon in the app.

Location Settings

LastLight offers three ways to determine your location:

• Device Location (Recommended): Uses GPS for maximum accuracy
• Automatic (IP-Based): Estimates location from your internet connection
• Manual Address: Enter any specific location worldwide

You can change your location method anytime in the app's settings.

Understanding the Times

• First Light: The moment when morning outdoor light becomes usable
• Sunrise: When the sun crosses the horizon in the morning
• Sunset: When the sun crosses the horizon in the evening
• Last Light: The moment when outdoor light becomes unusable

All times are calculated with scientific precision for your exact location and automatically adjust for your timezone and daylight saving time.

Troubleshooting

Widgets not updating

• Ensure your iPhone has an active internet connection
• Check that location permissions are enabled (if using Device Location)
• Try removing and re-adding the widget
• Restart your iPhone

Times showing "—"

• This typically means data hasn't been fetched yet
• Open the LastLight app to trigger an update
• Verify your location settings are configured correctly
• Check your internet connection

Location permission issues

• Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
• Find LastLight and ensure it's set to "While Using the App" or "Always"
• Alternatively, use the Automatic (IP-Based) or Manual Address location methods

System Requirements

• iPhone running iOS 18 or iOS 26
• Lock Screen widgets require iOS 16 or later
• Internet connection for data updates
